I was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq and received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Baghdad. I completed dental school training at the University of Colorado in Denver, where I graduated in the top 10% of my class and received an award for Excellence in Periodontics. I completed my periodontal and implant training from the Virginia Commonwealth University. During my residency I received a Master of Science in Dentistry degree and served as chief resident.
I find great pleasure in community service, and have participated in dental missions locally as well as abroad in Vietnam and Cambodia. I am also an avid dancer and competed and won the 2015 Dancing with the Richmond stars competition, a charitable event to raise funds for the Virginia Treatment Center for Children.
I am a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Southern Academy of Periodontics, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
